Indonesia - Bali

After the exhausting Gunung Rinjani Trek, we relaxed on Bali and met with Mr. and Mrs. Imhoff on honeymoon... (our hotel in Kuta - finally a hot shower again...)

Indonesia - Lombok: Climbing up Gunung Rinjani

Aiming high… Trail up to the top of Gunung Rinjani (Gunung Rinjani National Park), with its 3,726m above sealevel - view from the base camp at 2,600m.











Nach dem Aufstieg am ersten Tag (1,500 Höhenmeter in 8h) waren wir ziemlich ausser Atem, aber weiterhin vollmotiviert... (Unser Gunung Rinjani Trip mit Perama)












Der idyllische Zeltplatz entschädigte uns jedoch für die Strapazen des ersten Tages…












A "sea of clouds" and a spectacular sunset at our first camp site helped to forget the sore legs...




















Unglaublich, was uns unsere Köche (und Traeger...) mit einfachsten Mitteln - und in kürzester Zeit - für ein Gourmetmenu hinzauberten!

















The ascent to the summit at 3.00am was extremely steep. The slippery and sandy ground made it even more challenging (2 steps forward, 1 back…)

20 Minutes later: We did it!!! The view was amazing!!!























1,800 Höhenmeter Aufstieg und 1,900 Höhenmeter Abstieg an einem Tag! - Ein Bad im kalten Wasserfall und in den heissen Quellen nebenan gaben uns unsere Kräfte zurück.













A volcano in the volcano. Gunung Baru only exists since 1994 after a major eruption at the shore of the crater lake.

Indonesia - Boat trip from Flores to Lombok

During the next two days, we enjoyed beautiful sunsets and sunrises...

















...a visit to the neighbouring island of Komodo, Rinca Island, also home to the world's largest dragon, delicious food on board, wonderful snorkelling and a lot more!

Moyo Island, wo wir an Land gingen, um in einem "Wasserfall-Pool" zu schwimmen.














An Land wurden wir sogleich von mehreren Kindern umringt, die "Portrait, Portrait" schrien und sich gegenseitig aus dem Bild zu schubsen versuchten...

Nach 2 Naechten und 2 Tagen sahen wir dann im Sonnenuntergang den Gunung Rinjani, den 2. hoechsten Vulkan in Indonesien, wessen Besteigung unser naechstes Ziel war.

Indonesia - Flores

In Flores, Indonesia, we "chartered a Ferary" for 4 days, with which we were driven on bumpy streets over the entire island.











Marco had to sit on the floor as he would have touched the ceiling otherwise...












Unsere 2 Fahrer Deni und Paul sprachen fast kein Englisch. Ein rettender Buecherladen mit einem Englisch - Indonesisch Dixer erleichterte uns schliesslich die Kommunikation.



















Eine herrliche Landschaft voller Vulkane und Reisfelder zog an uns vorueber.
Guns'n'Roses and Scorpions accompagnied us loudly while we enjoyed the fascinating landscape of Flores.


Our absolute favourite: Volcano Inerie














Eine holprige Strasse fuehrte uns zum Dorf Bena, in welchem man sich in mittelalterliche Zeiten zurueckversetzt fuehlte.

In Indonesia, school lessons start with a military-like drill...











Nach Moni - Kelimutu - Bajawa - Bena - Ruteng kamen wir am 4. Tag in Labuanbajo an.

Singapore - 1st stop

First stopover in Singapore - temperature 20 degrees more as when we left Switzerland - and double the humidity... At least that's how it felt...


Die nächsten 4 Tage werden wir hier verbringen - und uns an das Klima gewöhnen müssen.







First Night, first crab... Natürlich mussten wir gleich das berühmte Seafood Center in Singapore testen: Black Pepper Crab, Butter Prawns - we definitely enjoyed the meal!!

















Sentosa - we surely could not miss a day on Singapore's leisure island!!
